Office 365 is the same suite of Office products and services you already use, now provided through the Microsoft cloud. Learn more about Office 365.
A benefit of moving to Office 365 is that mailboxes will have unlimited storage negating the need for archiving. In office 365, all of your email will be in your inbox all the time, unless you move or delete it yourself.
- Junk - Office 365 uses Microsoft's SPAM filtering tools. SPAM will be blocked before being delivered. In addition, a "junk mail" folder will appear in your inbox and you may label items as junk for routing future messages of that type. Learn how to work with junk mail.
- Clutter - In Outlook 2016 for Windows, "Clutter" can help you filter low-priority email, saving time for your most important messages. Learn more about Clutter.
- [Encrypt] - Microsoft provides added security for messages such as encryption, that make sure messages are kept private and read only by those intended to see the message. Encryption works well when sending scans from campus Smart Printers too. Simply prefix your message subject with [encrypt] (including brackets) for increased message security. Learn more about encryption.
- Blocking of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) - Messages containing social security or credit card numbers will be blocked by Office 365 automatically. The message will not be delivered and the sender will receive a reply indicating this content is not suitable for email. If you need to send information of this type via email, you must encrypt it.
