Master of arts in teaching cohort; Apply now to begin Fall 2018

Loyola University Maryland’s School of Education will offer a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) with teacher certification cohort with independent schools beginning Fall 2018.

Independent school teachers with a broad liberal arts bachelor’s degree or major in a specific subject area below may choose from one of our pathways to initial teacher certification:

  • Elementary Education (Grades 1-6)
  • Secondary Education (Grades 7-12): Biology, Chemistry, Earth/Space Science, Math, Physics, English, and Social Studies
  • Secondary Education (Grades (PK-12): Art, Spanish, French, and Music (Vocal or Instrumental)

  • Students will receive 25% off tuition
  • Loyola will waive your $60 application fee
  • Two-year program beginning Fall 2018 and concluding Spring 2020
  • Courses in Timonium and Baltimore
  • Students are eligible for payment plans and graduate financial aid
  • Most candidates complete clinical experiences in their own school settings
