Friday, September 9th

ALANA Block Party

Student Center, 3rd Floor Common Space

ALANA Services welcomes you to the beginning of the school year with a Block Party! Come meet our staff, learn about our office, our ALANA Student Organizations, and have a chance to collect some of our giveaways and win prizes. Refreshments will be provided! Hosted by ALANA Services. 

Back to School BBQ

Welcome back to school, Hounds! Join us for food, inflatables, yard games and live music! Make sure you come out for a night full of fun, food, friends and a great way to kick off the school year! Hosted by the Student Government Association.

HampdenFest Shuttles

Shuttles Depart from Newman Towers

HampdenFest is back for Fall 2022! Visit one of Baltimore's iconic neighborhoods for the food, vendors, quirky antique shops, and of course be sure not to miss the toilet races! Shuttles will run in a continuous loop between Newman Towers and Hampden Elementary. Hosted by Messina.

Stop by the Maryland Hall Circle to get free coffee and donuts! Not only will you get a sweet treat, but you will be able to meet some of your Student Government Association representatives for the upcoming school year. Hosted by the Student Government Association. 

Community Engagement Fair

4:00 – 6:30 p.m.

McGuire Hall

Join us for the annual Community Engagement Fair where you can explore the various community engagement, service, and justice opportunities offered by CCSJ throughout our York Road and Baltimore community. Meet community partners and find the opportunity right for you. Community service, advocacy initiatives, and community engagement are just a few of the opportunities at Loyola where you can live out our Jesuit values of being a person “for and with others.” Student interns will be available to share more information about one-time and weekly service opportunities as well as immersion programs, advocacy opportunities, and courses you can take on campus that offer service-learning opportunities. If you’re interested in learning more about ways to serve and connect to our Baltimore community, you won’t want to miss this event. Hosted by the Center for Community, Service and Justice.

This is YOUR time to get involved, gain a new hobby, and explore your passion. Visit the Student Activities Fair on the Quad to learn about the endless ways to get involved on our Evergreen campus! More than 130 student clubs and organizations will be represented. Continue your craft or pick up a new hobby! Hosted by the Office of Student Engagement (rain date Sept. 20th, same time and location)

Rita's and Resources

2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

The Quad

Join us to learn about what Loyola has to offer in terms of resources for our campus community and treat yourself to some Rita's on us! Meet with representatives from on-campus resources such as the Women's Center, Title IX, Student Health, Public Safety, and the Counselling Center as well as visitors from off-campus resources like Mercy Medical Center and TurnAround, Inc. Hosted by the Women's Center. 

Govans Farmers Market

3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

5104 York Road

Loyola University Maryland’s York Road Initiative (YRI) will host the 11th season of the Govans Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays from 3 – 6 p.m. between June 1 and Sept. 28, 2022. The market is located in the parking lot of Loyola's Transportation and Public Safety complex at 5104 York Rd. Check out a variety of vendors from fruit to bread to tacos! Hosted by the Center for Community, Service and Justice and the York Road Initiative.
