Students participating in fall events

Fall Welcome Weekend 2021 will take place September 3-6 (Labor Day Weekend) with move-in taking place September 1-2. Students will receive the most updated and accurate schedule upon their arrival to campus. The schedule below should serve as a guide for what to expect during the orientation program.

Floor Meetings with Resident Assistants

This is a required meeting for all first-year students living in the residence halls. Students should report to their specific residential areas.

Friday, September 3rd

9:30AM - 10:30AM

Convocation

The Class of 2025 will be introduced and inducted into the Loyola University Maryland community. During this ceremony, students will pledge the Honor Code.

Common Text Advisor Meetings

You’ve read the book and you’ve tackled the study guide. Now it’s time to discuss what you’ve learned with your Messina advisor and new classmates. Other important information about classes and the advising process will also be covered.

Community & Safety Session

The experience of being a student begins with what happens in the residence halls and classrooms but extends beyond that into the City of Baltimore. Come learn more about being a member of this shared community, the expectations placed on students, interactions with the local area, and more.

Title IX Session

Consent for sexual activity is a term that is often mentioned but not always defined. This session will explore the meaning of consent, along with the importance of affirming agreement regarding sexual activity for healthy relationships.

Class Schedule Tours

Evergreens will use this time to walk students through their schedule. On the tour, we will highlight the offices of your Messina Faculty and Mentor!
