Fall Welcome Weekend 2024 will take place August 29 - September 2 (Labor Day Weekend).

Below is last year's (2023) schedule. The 2024 Fall Welcome Weekend schedule will be published in May.

Dining Services Information Session
Dining services will overview the various meal plans and options available to Loyola students. Additionally, they will cover the topic of allergens and dietary restrictions for those who may have questions.
3:00PM - 4:00PM Calling All Commuters: Your Guide to Success at Loyola
This is a required meeting for all first-year commuter students. Take this opportunity to attend the first organizational meeting of the year and learn more about the expectations of a commuter student at Loyola.
4:00PM Kick-Off to Welcome Weekend
Come together as a class for the official kick-off to Welcome Weekend and your first year at Loyola. You'll have a chance to meet your classmates, play some games, and divide into your Messina groups for the first time.
5:30PM Dinner with Evergreen Group
7:30PM - 8:30PM

Floor Meetings with Resident Assistants
This is a required meeting for all first-year students living in the residence halls. Students should report to their specific residential areas.

9:00PM - 11:00PM Free Money Game Show
Cap off the night with a social activity where you have the chance to win free money!

Information Session Rotations:

Know More and Step Up! Building a Community of Consent and Support
This session is part of a continuing conversation about building a community free of sexual misconduct. We will address definitions of consent and sexual misconduct, including processes for reporting and addressing incidents and resources. You will also learn how you can play a role in building a strong community by intervening in situations where there is potential for harm.

Community and Safety at Loyola
The experience of being a student at Loyola extends beyond residence halls and classrooms into the City of Baltimore. Learn more about being a member of this shared community, the expectations placed on students, interactions with the local area, and more.

Joining Loyola's Academic Community
Joining Loyola’s academic community is a privilege complete with wonderful opportunities for growing as a scholar. How will you engage your professors, your classmates, your coursework, and the totality of your college experience openly, honestly, and about your responsibilities? How will you make your mark?

Student Resource Scavenger Hunt
Knowing campus resources is one thing, knowing where to find them is another! The Evergreens will lead you through a fun and interactive scavenger hunt throughout campus. Groups will meet back on the Quad to receive their Messina-themed t-shirt.

We welcome students who identify as a person of color, a first-generation college student, and/or a member of the LGBTQ+ community to join for an overview of available services as well as time to connect with staff and peers.

Class Schedule Tours
Evergreens will use this time to walk students through their schedule. On the tour, we will highlight the offices of your Messina Faculty and Mentor!

 12:00PM - 5:00PM Shuttles to Towsontown Place
Buses will take you to and from this shopping center in Towson. Stores include: Target, WalMart, Weis, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and more!
 2:00PM - 4:00PM  Tie Dye and Kona Ice
Come and tie dye, meet new Greyhounds and connect with the Women's Center! The first 300 students will receive a coupon for a FREE Kona Ice Snowball!

What is an Evergreen?

The Evergreens are a group of student mentors who volunteer their time to assist new students in their transition to college. Evergreens represent a diverse group of students from various backgrounds, class years, and majors.
