Are you a student with a disability who is worried about your transition to college? Are you wondering how to arrange accommodations or looking for advice or support in navigating college with a health condition? Strategies for Success is a one-day workshop geared for students with disabilities. Participants will move in on Wednesday, August 31st and attend a casual welcome reception with their families that evening.
On Thursday, September 1st, participants will spend the day with student mentors and staff from Loyola’s Disability Support Services office and other campus partners. The workshop includes sessions on time-management, academic goal setting, procedures for using approved accommodations and helpful assistive technology options. Participants receive guidance on communicating with faculty members and the importance of developing self-advocacy skills. The day includes a trip off campus to a local restaurant for lunch.
Students with any type of disability (learning, physical, mental or chronic health, etc.) may register to attend.
