Spring Welcome Weekend Schedule

We know this experience will be new and different for each of you. We are currently working on the plans for a Spring Welcome Weekend to meet the unique needs of each of our new Greyhounds. Below is a current outline of the schedule and we will continue to update this website as needed. Students should pay close attention to their Loyola email for the most updated and accurate orientation information.

All of the orientation sessions and events will be virtual to comply with the CARP (Campus Arrival Restriction Period) guidelines.

Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 First-Year Students

Saturday, January 16 Sessions for Spring 2021 Students Only (unless noted otherwise)
9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. Official New Student Welcome
Various members of the campus community will welcome students and their families to Loyola.
10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Evergreen Small Group Meeting
This required meeting is when Evergreens (orientation leaders) will walk through the orientation schedule and expectations for the weekend.
11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Academic Support Panel
Representatives from various campus departments will share information on the support services available to you at Loyola.
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Bystander Intervention Session
All new students are required to participate in this program that reviews how to intervene in various situations.
3:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Evergreen Small Group Meeting
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Residence Hall "First Floor Meeting" - All Members of the Class of 2024
This is a required meeting for all first-year students living in the residence halls.
8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Late Night Programming
Social programming available for all students.

Sunday, January 17 Sessions for All Members of the Class of 2024 (unless noted otherwise)
10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.

Anti-Racism (Spring '21 students only)
All new students are required to participate in this program that will introduce you to the topic of anti-racism.

11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. Evergreen Small Group Meeting
This required meeting is when Evergreens will review the schedule as well as to overview important COVID-related information.
1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. Community & Safety Session
This session will overview campus expectations.
2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

Title IX, Part 2
This session is meant to serve as a follow-up to the sessions students participated in during the fall semester.

3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Evergreen Small Group Meeting
4:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. Commuter Student Information Session
This is a required meeting for new commuter students which will overview campus parking regulations as well as spring semester programming.
5:00 p.m. Sunday Liturgy
7:00 p.m.  First Year Assembly Meeting
8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Late Night Programming
Social programming available for all students.

Transfer Students (Fall or Spring)

Friday, January 15
10:15 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Required Meeting for Spring '21 Transfers
Orientation leaders will host a meeting for all new transfers. This will be an opportunity to meet other students as well as to walk through the schedule for the weekend.
11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. Official Transfer Student Welcome
The Transfer Student Organization (TSO) will host this session which will review expectations for the weekend as well as to share plans for the spring semester.
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Bystander Intervention Session
All new students are required to participate in this program that reviews how to intervene in various situations.
2:15 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Meeting with Transfer Evergreen Orientation Leaders
8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Late Night Programming
Social programming available for all students.
Saturday, January 16  
On Your Own

The majority of the day has been set aside for you to review required, pre-recorded videos. Topics include anti-racism, Title IX, and community and safety expectations.

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Academic Information Panel (for Spring '21 Transfers)
Representatives from various campus departments will share information on the support services available to you at Loyola.
8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Late Night Programming
Social programming available for all students.
Sunday, January 17

 

4:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. Commuter Student Information Session
This optional session will overview general information around being a commuter student at Loyola.
5:00 p.m. Sunday Liturgy
8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Late Night Programming
Social programming available for all students.

Spring Welcome Weekend is mandatory for all new students. When you made your deposit to Loyola, there was an orientation fee included which fully covers the cost of orientation.
