Spring Welcome Weekend Schedule

We know this experience will be new and different for each of you. Our Spring Welcome Weekend meet the unique needs of each of our new Greyhounds. Below is some general information and we will continue to update this website as needed. Students should pay close attention to their Loyola email for the most updated and accurate orientation information.

  • Spring Welcome Weekend 2024 will take place on Sunday, January 14- Monday, January 15 (see schedule below)
  • The program will offer you an opportunity to meet and interact with other transfer students, current students, and administrators
  • Information sessions will be geared to what you need to know that is specific to Loyola 

Spring Welcome Weekend is mandatory for all new students. When you made your deposit to Loyola, there was an orientation fee included which fully covers the cost of orientation.

Move-In

Residential students receive their room key and Loyola student ID card. Please refer to the move-in information from Residence Life & Housing.

1:15PM - 1:45PM

Commuter Student Meeting

This is for any transfer students who are commuting to campus hosted by our Commuter Student Organization (CSO). Take this opportunity to learn more about the expectations and tips of being a Loyola commuter student.

2:00PM - 2:30PM

Transfer Student Welcome Reception

Students and families are invited to a causal welcome program where you will be introduced to administrators and peers. Light refreshments will be provided.

2:30PM - 3:00PM

Evergreen Small Group Meeting

This time will be a chance for transfer students to get to know each other, connect with their transfer Evergreen.

3:00PM - 3:30PM

Academic Info Session

Joining Loyola’s academic community is a privilege complete with wonderful opportunities for growing as a scholar. How will you engage with professors, your classmates, your coursework? Will you approach this journey with an openness, a level of honesty, and a willingness to accept new responsibilities? How will you make your mark?

3:30PM - 4:00PM  

Student Success Workshop

Learn about all the resources Loyola offers students. This session will help you feel prepared to start your journey here at Loyola from technology, financial aid, and the library to name a few. We know you may have had these resources at your previous institution, but we want to make sure you are aware of Loyola’s versions.  

4:15PM - 5:00PM

New Place, New Path, New Purpose w/ Student Panel

During this session we will discuss what it is like to get start fresh at a new university. This informational session where you can learn about the endless possibilities to get involved and feel connected to the Loyola community. Helping to determine what your path forward and more importantly what your purpose in being a Loyola Greyhound is.

5:00PM - 6:00PM

Mass, Alumni Chapel

For those who would like to attend, join the Loyola community in the first Mass of the spring semester.

 

6:30PM - 8:00PM

 

Dinner and Social

Complimentary dinner will be provided and hosted by our Transfer Student Organization 

 

8:00PM - 10:00PM

 

Everything You Forgot at Home Bingo

Come play bingo with your peers and win some items you forgot or could use over the next few months with us at Loyola!

Your Evergreen will take you around campus and show you where your classes and other important resources are located on our Evergreen Campus.

What is an Evergreen?

The Evergreens are a group of student mentors who volunteer their time to assist new students in their transition to college. Evergreens represent a diverse group of students from various backgrounds, class years, and majors.
