Jasmine Rand, attorney for family of Trayvon Martin, to speak at Loyola Feb. 4

Loyola University Maryland welcomes Jasmine Rand, J.D., attorney for the Trayvon Martin family, as the speaker for the Bunting Peace and Justice Speaker Series on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. in the 4th Floor Program Room.

During her lecture, “Righting the Wrongs: Becoming a Positive Force for Change”, Rand will share her insights, experiences, and pioneering efforts for social justice and empowerment. She is currently a professor of law, a national legal analyst, an international legal consultant, lecturer, columnist, and civil rights law leader.

Rand is the founding attorney of the Miami-based civil litigation firm Rand Law, LLC. In 2013 the National Bar Association recognized Rand as one of the “Nation’s Best Advocates: Top 40 Lawyers Under 40” in the United States.

The lecture is free and open to the public. It is part of Loyola’s Peace and Justice Studies program, which offers students the opportunity to study peace and justice through interpersonal, institutional, societal, and global contexts.
