CNN Political Analyst to give Caulfield Lecture

April Ryan, CNN political analyst and D.C. bureau chief for the American Urban Radio Networks, will give the annual Caulfield Lecture on Thursday, April 19, at 5 p.m. in McGuire Hall.
Ryan, a graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore, has covered the White House for 20 years. She is a member of the National Press Club and is one of only three African-Americans to have served on the board of the White House Correspondents’ Association.
She was named the Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists in May 2017. She was named by POLITICO as one of the top 50 in Washington to watch for 2011-2012.
She is the author of The Presidency in Black and White: My Up Close View of Three Presidents and Race in America, and At Mama’s Knee: Mothers and Race in Black and White.
The event is free and open to the public. There will be a book-signing and reception immediately following the lecture.
