| By Stephanie Weaver
A new report from PayScale.com ranks Loyola’s communication program no. 19 on Best Schools for Communications Majors by Salary Potential.
Loyola communication alumni submitting salary information to PayScale earned a median early career salary of $50,200 and a mid-career salary of $115,000.
“Loyola communication graduates go on to find careers in the digital and video, advertising, event planning, journalism, book publishing, and social media communication world. Our graduates not only get hands-on essential skills and professional experience during their time as students, but also gain a fundamental understanding of media and communication today, grounded in the values of a Jesuit education,” said Sara Magee, Ph.D., chair of the communication department. “This is extremely important in a society where communication is becoming even more crucial and knowing how to communicate well is a hallmark of a Loyola communication graduate.”
Loyola is one of the 637 institutions ranked on the list. Payscale’s annual report is based on the salaries of 3.2 million college graduates from across the nation.
