Ramon Goings and Larry Walker on Diversifying the Teacher Workforce
Ramon Goings, Ph.D., assistant professor, and Larry Walker, Ed.D., lecturer, in the
Educational Leadership program, coauthored a peer review journal article,
“School and District Leaders’ Role in Diversifying the Teacher Workforce.” In this article, they discuss the role of school and district leaders in diversifying the teaching profession, the current racial and ethnic demographics of the teaching workforce and student population, the factors that influence recruitment and retention, and their recommendations to school-based and district leaders on how to plan for diversifying their teacher workforce.
