International Business Curriculum

Required Courses for International Business Concentration

Requirements for the international business concentration and typical program of courses are listed below. Students majoring in business administration with a concentration in international business must take the business core in addition to the concentration requirements listed below.

Concentration Requirements:

Select six of the following courses from at least four different subjects:

  • AC 320 - International Accounting: Study Tour or
  • FI 426 - Special Topics in Finance
  • EC 304 - Survey of International Economics
  • EC 348 - Development Economics
  • EC 440 - International Financial Economics
  • EC 446 - International Trade
  • FI 340 - Global Financial Management
  • IB 415 - International Management or
  • MG 415 - International Management
  • IB 470 - Special Topics in International Business
  • IB 473 - Global Strategic Alliances
  • IB 499 - International Business Internship
  • IS 360 - Management of Global Information Technology
  • LW 410 - International Business Law
  • MG 451 - Global Social Entrepreneurship
  • OM 334 - Global Supply Chain Management

Notes: Other courses may be permitted as electives with approval of the program director. Foreign languages and study abroad are encourages but not required. Students concentrating in international business are encourages to complete IB 282 during sophomore year.

Required Courses for IB Minor

The Sellinger School offers minors to support the career and professional interests of students pursuing majors in arts and sciences. The international business minor is not available to students majoring in business administration or accounting.

Requirements for the Minor

Recommended for nonbusiness students interested in a multidisciplinary perspective of international business. Requirements are as follows:

  • IB 282 - International Business
  • MG 201 - Management
  • MG 415 - International Management

Plus Select Three of the Following:

Courses selected must be from at least two different departments.
