Ryan McQueeney, MBA ’10, CFO of RedOwl Analytics

Ryan McQueeney, CFO of RedOwl Analytics, wanted to get his MBA to expand his finance and accounting skillset with more general business skills.
During his time in the Sellinger MBA program, Ryan said he was surprised how much he was able to apply what he learned in school to his job.
Ryan graduated from Sellinger’s MBA Fellows program in 2010. He chose to study at Sellinger after hearing many high recommendations for the program from his work colleagues.
Ryan leads finance and accounting for RedOwl, and his job includes strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, investor relations and treasury. In addition, Ryan is currently a member of the board of directors, Audit & Finance Committee chair and an executive committee member of Behavioral Health Systems Baltimore.
Prior to joining RedOwl, Ryan was the director of finance at Competitive Power Ventures, where his responsibilities included short and long-term forecasting and budgeting, financial modeling and treasury functions for a portfolio of assets. He has over a decade of experience in public accounting across the real estate, technology and health care sectors.
“In reflecting on my time at Sellinger, what I look most fondly on was learning from my classmates and creating lasting relationships. It helped me think more holistically about problems because their backgrounds were different than mine,” he said. “I also learned that diverse groups are important to getting the best outcomes.”
Ryan said he comes across people all the time within the Sellinger network. “I served on the alumni board for several years, and I also hosted a Sellinger ‘After Five’ event at RedOwl to discuss the venture capital fundraising process.”
