Emerging Leaders MBA Student Spotlight
Ryan, Class of 2019
Emerging Leaders MBA
Ryan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Colgate University in 2012 and launched his career in the sports and entertainment industry. Prior to enrolling in the Loyola's 12-month, full-time cohort program, Ryan worked as the manager of premium partnerships for the Prudential Center and the New Jersey Devils. Loyola’s full-time MBA program—the Emerging Leaders MBA (ELMBA)—stood out to him for its accelerated one-year format, in addition to the study tour opportunities and affordable tuition. As a student with a non-business degree, Ryan quickly disproves the notion that an MBA is only for finance or economics aficionados.
“If you don’t come from a business undergraduate background already, that’s all the more reason to educate yourself with an MBA experience. No matter your background, the ELMBA program will provide a strong foundation in all of the core business concepts that we all require to succeed in the business world of tomorrow,” he says.
Furthermore, as someone early in his career path, Ryan was open to the opportunity to better himself—while not having to put his next step on hold for more than 12 months. “I would urge other young professionals to not look at it as pressing pause on a busy professional life,” he says. “Think of it as devoting a year to improving yourself so you can bring a whole new level of understanding and value to an organization and to your own professional aspirations.”
