The first and second round of admission ensures first consideration for the limited scholarship opportunities available and early admission to the cohort. Applications must be complete with all supplemental materials received by the deadline to ensure a decision by the first and second round. Applications will then be reviewed thereafter with rolling admission as space is available.
Students are offered admission based upon the consideration of two major areas: quantitative criteria consisting of prior academic achievement and performance on the GMAT, and qualitative data which includes demonstration of leadership potential and/or management experience, a written personal statement, and two references. In evaluating applicants, the committee considers many aspects of performance including each portion of the GMAT, undergraduate performance and progression, extracurricular involvement and community engagement, certifications and awards, references, and other evidence of the applicant’s capacity to successfully pursue a fast-paced, accelerated graduate business program. The competitive candidate must have demonstrated academic success supported by a strong GMAT score (550 or above). Applications will be reviewed, and those applicants under consideration will be invited to interview via Skype
The program is cohort based. Students from all academic backgrounds are welcome to apply. Applicants whose academic background is not business may be admitted with the condition of completing a three-week, noncredit boot camp which emphasizes quantitative skill development in the areas of macroeconomics, accounting, market analysis, finance, and quantitative modeling. This program is priced separately from the ELMBA tuition.

The following documents are required for admission to the Emerging Leaders MBA program and can be sent to the contact information above:
- Essay/personal statement (the essay prompt can be found on the online application)
- Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores. Report must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service. Scores must be from test administrations within five years of the application deadline. Loyola's institution code is 5370.
Note: The GMAT exam is preferred; however, Loyola will accept the GRE revised General Test (August 2011 and later). Report must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (www.ets.org). Scores will be converted using the GRE Comparison Tool for Business Schools produced by the ETS.
- Official transcripts from each college or university attended;
- Resume or vitae;
- Two professional/academic letters of recommendation;
- International student supplemental documents (required only if a student visa is needed).
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that a completed application and all supplemental materials are received by the application deadline. Supplemental materials, once received, become the property of Loyola University Maryland and cannot be returned.
A TOEFL score report is required only if English is not your native language or if you have not completed a degree program taught in English. An official TOEFL score report cannot be more than two years old. Official scores must be mailed directly from the Education Testing Service. Loyola's institutional code is 5370.
Applicants who hold degrees or have earned credits from non-U.S. institutions (not study abroad programs) must have a course-by-course evaluation and translation done by a Loyola recognized evaluation services agency. Loyola recommends World Education Services (WES).
