Transfer Spring Welcome Weekend Schedule

Note: The schedule below is from Spring 2016. The schedule will be updated in early January, but this will give you an idea of what to expect when you attend.

Welcome to Loyola! We are excited to have you join our Loyola community. As transfer students, we know you have some college experience under your belts and have tailored sessions to your needs. Transfer Welcome Weekend is important for your success at Loyola. Below you will find the framework for your schedule. Students will receive a more detailed schedule during check-in. Please remember, transfer welcome weekend is mandatory for all incoming transfer students.

The schedule below is an outline of what will take place during Welcome Weekend. You will receive a specific schedule upon check-in.

January 17th 

Time Student Program
9 a..m. - Noon Resident Transfer Student Check-In
Transfer students living on campus will receive their keys and student IDs as well as information for the upcoming days.
**Specifics about how/where to check in will be sent to your Loyola email account the week prior to your arrival.
2 p.m. - 3 p.m. Family Reception and Welcome 
Join Loyola Administrators to learn about the Loyola community and our expectations for you as Loyola students and family members. Refreshments will be provided.
**Please RSVP with the number of intended guests for the reception to orientation@loyola.edu

Students will receive detailed schedules and information packets at this time.
3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. Getting Acquainted
Orientation student staff and current transfer students will talk through the schedule, lead tours of the campus, and offer some insight on what it means to be a Greyhound.
6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Mass in the Chapel
Open to all those who choose to attend. 
7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Dinner Off Campus
The orientation staff will take you off campus for a complimentary dinner.

January 18th 

Time  Student Program
11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Brunch and Information Sessions 
We will offer a number of sessions covering campus involvement, academic and community expectations, and in general, what makes Loyola unique.
3 p.m. - 4 p.m.  Small Group Time
We know that students appreciate hearing from other students so you'll have a chance to have all of your questions answered by current Loyola students.
4 p.m. - 5 p.m.  Wrap Up
We will close out our program and answer any final questions you may have before hearing from one of our Jesuits about what it means to be educated at Loyola!
5 p.m. The 23rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr, Convocation
This annual event is open to all Loyola community members. We hope you will join us to hear from this year's keynote, Claudia Rankine. More information can be found here
