Dave Luvison, DBA, professor of management and executive in residence of management and international business, earned his doctorate in business administration from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. His research focuses on the challenges of collaboration from individuals in a group setting. Luvison grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Education from John Carroll University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Miami University. At Loyola, he teaches both undergraduate and graduate classes in the Sellinger School of Business and Management, which allows him to tailor his courses to each experience level. Luvison believes Loyola’s management and business courses are unique due to their focus on cultural and global thinking, and he integrates reflection in his coursework to promote personal and professional growth for his students. “What's curious to me is that even though reflection is an innately Jesuit value, I'm seeing more and more in the business press about the importance of reflection for people at all levels of an organization,” said Luvison, who joined the Loyola community in 2015. “In that sense, I’d say that Loyola’s values are really right for the times.”

There are many things that I've found satisfying about Loyola, but I think the friendliness I've found with my colleagues has been the most prominent factor for me.
