Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

The Loyola Honors Program is committed to creating a community that recognizes the inherent value and dignity of each person.  As members of a larger Jesuit community, Loyola University, we dedicate ourselves to the Ignatian values of integrity, courage, love, justice, forgiveness, hope, healing, and the pursuit of knowledge.  We are actively working to promote an awareness of and sensitivity to differences of race, gender, ethnicity, class, national origin, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, and disabilities among students, faculty, administrators, and staff.  We are committing resources to recruit and welcome a more diverse student population, and we are enhancing the education we offer our students by incorporating non-Western and non-White texts into the Human Drama sequence, as well as in other courses, so that they will be prepared as Ignatian citizens to join our diverse and ever-changing global society.

For decades, the Honors Program has brought together some of Loyola’s best students and faculty to create a joyful learning community.  It is a community we cherish, and it is also a work in progress.  We invite applications from prospective students who will join with us to both enliven and improve it.
