Senior Sabbatical Leave

Faculty members applying for sabbatical must submit an Intent to Apply for Sabbatical Form in the year that they intend to apply for sabbatical. This form notifies the dean of the upcoming application. Faculty members should communicate with their department chair prior to submitting the form.

The Intent to Apply for Sabbatical Form must be submitted to the ORSP via the online submission portal no later than the first Friday of the fall semester.

Senior Sabbatical Applications are due by 5 p.m. on the first Monday in October.

Faculty members applying for senior sabbatical leave are reminded that electronic copies of the application, as well as the required departmental letter of support, must be submitted electronically via the web form no later than 5 p.m. on the first Monday in October.

In preparing applications, faculty should consult the sabbatical leave guidelines and sabbatical application format. In addition, the departmental coverage form, is to be completed by the department chair and submitted online at the time of the application.

The Senior Sabbatical Leave Guidelines were updated in 2015. Faculty members are encouraged to carefully review the guidelines to be certain that they are familiar with all requirements.
