The Fitness and Aquatics Center (FAC) is located just one block north of the Charles Street Bridge and administratively houses all recreation and wellness programs. There is something for everyone at the FAC!

Mangione Aquatic Center

Splash into the FAC's state-of-the-art Mangione Aquatic Center! Whether you are a veteran swimmer or just getting started, the recreation and wellness aquatic program can steer you in the right direction. Not only do you have ample opportunity for lap swimming, you can also take advantage of our self-directed aqua jogging, children and adult learn to swim programs, swim clinics, lifeguarding certification classes (spring only), and much more!

Fitness Center

The fitness center is a 6,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility designed to meet all of your strength and conditioning needs. It is home to the latest in strength training and cardiovascular conditioning equipment. This area has been designed to enhance the workout of each and every member and includes top of the line manufacturers such as Body Masters, Cybex, Hammer Strength, Life Fitness, Paramount, Precor, Star Track, and Woodway.

Elevated Walking/Jogging Track
Three lane track measuring a tenth of a mile with cardio equipment available on the second level of the FAC.
Indoor Rock Climbing Wall
A 30 foot high climbing wall and bouldering area designed for all skill levels; instructional classes available.

Two-Court Gymnasium
Used for club sports, intramural sports, and informal recreation.

Features a sport court surface ideal for indoor soccer, volleyball, and inline sports. Primarily used for club sports, intramural sports, and informal recreation.

These glass walled courts are designed for heavy use and have professional playing characteristics.

Two Group Exercise Studios
Specialized wood flooring softens the impact for a variety of drop-in group exercise classes throughout the academic year.

Functional Fitness Area
Turf and rubber surface for stretching, plyometrics, ab exercises, battle ropes, rowing machine, and medicine balls. Also includes the Queenax Functional Fitness Machine for a variety of TRX exercises.

Adjacent to the facility and is primarily used for intramural and club sport activities.

Locker Rooms
Spacious locker rooms with showers, lockers, restroom facilities, suit-drying machine. Day use lockers are available at no additional charge. Locker rentals are also available through member services.

Available to all members with a valid Loyola ID/membership card and guests. General recreation equipment check-out, locker, and towel service.

Rowing Room
Over 15 erg machines available to our members for use outside of the Varsity Rowing practice schedule.

Classroom
A high-tech classroom that has computer access, as well as a projector, screen, and DVD.

Three Office Suites
The general office suite is behind the welcome desk. Fitness & Wellness is on the second floor next to the atrium. Competitive Sports and Outdoor Programs is located on the second floor at the end of the racquetball court hallway.
