Things to do Before Move-In

Summer Arrangements

Room Assignment/Roommates

  • Retrieve your room assignment and roommate information via your Loyola email in early August.
  • Start building a relationship with your roommates prior to arrival. Talk about expectations of living together using the Roommate Agreement Workbook as a guide.
  • Contact your roommates and decide what each of you is bringing to the room. Note that there is only one cable television connection per bedroom. For every person in a room, there is a bed, dresser, desk, and chair.
  • Identify your check-in location by your approved arrival date attached to your assignment email.

Packing and Shipping

  • Plan what to bring to college.
  • Keep in mind that there are some items prohibited in the halls. These items will be confiscated if found during room inspections
  • Label boxes with your name and Building/ Room Number/Bedroom (For example, Campion 610, Bedroom A)
  • If you need to mail any items, they should be sent to your mailstop. You can find your mailstop number on WebAdvisor.

Things to Do on Move-In Day

  • Know where you are going and print your campus map before arrival.
  • Arrive at your hall at the assigned move-in date and time, found in your assignment email.
  • Park in a designated space to unload your belongings curb-side.
  • Once belongings are unloaded, move your vehicle to a permanent parking space, campus police can help you identify the closest place to park.
  • Our volunteers will be available to assist all first year students with move-in and will be directing traffic and providing information throughout campus on the main move-in days. Volunteer assistance is available at no cost to you. There will also be large bins with wheels that you may check out to use, however the person using the bin will be asked to sign it out and leave a driver’s license until the bin is returned. Please be aware that there are a limited number of bins, and there may be a wait time to obtain one.
  • Review the Room Condition Report (RCR) handed out to each resident when they check in. Report any repair issues to Facilities Management.
  • Break down your moving boxes and bring them to designated recycling areas or take them home for reuse, take out all trash to designated dumpsters
