Email for Students and Alumni (Microsoft Office 365)
All Loyola students have email accounts that are hosted on-campus and powered by Microsoft Office 365. Students can access Loyola email using Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Web Access. You can access your account from Inside.Loyola or by navigating directly to http://houndmail.loyola.edu/.

Email for Faculty, Administrators, and Staff
All Loyola faculty, administrators, and staff have email accounts. These accounts are hosted on-campus by Loyola's campus data center. Faculty, administrators, and staff can access their email using Microsoft Outlook on campus-deployed computers or via Inside.Loyola.
Have you ever needed to use your Loyola email account to send restricted information such as a social security or credit card number to an agency outside of Loyola? An easy-to-use process has been put into place for you to encrypt messages that contain restricted information when sending to individuals outside the Loyola email system. Faculty, administrators, and staff should format their email signatures according to the standards outlined by Loyola's Marketing and Communications department.
Microsoft Information Rights Management (IRM)
Information Rights Management (IRM) allows individuals to specify access permissions to documents, workbooks, and presentations. This helps prevent sensitive information from being printed, forwarded, or copied by unauthorized people. Learn more about IRM.
SPAM is a leading cause of security problems inherent with email. As you use your Loyola email, remember a few things:
- Never tell anyone your password: No one at Loyola should ever ask for your password, including technology services. Never give your password to anyone over the phone or through email.
- Be mindful of who the sender is: All Loyola technology communications will come from the Office of Technology Support (OTS@Loyola.edu). When asked for information over electronic messages, be mindful of who is asking for it and why. The OTS will never ask for your password, ever.
- Be careful of hyperlinks: If the sender of the message is someone you may not know, be careful of clicking on website hyperlinks in the body of the message. If you are unsure of a message that was sent to you, please contact OTS for assistance.

Archiving is the transfer and backup of email messages that are more than 60 days old from an email account onto a Loyola dedicated email archive server. This method of archiving allows the Loyola email system to operate in a more efficient manner by off-loading older email to the dedicated archive server. Large mailboxes require storage space and significant processing power to keep the email system operating efficiently. By off-loading older messages to the archive server, we do not need to place restrictions on mailbox size.
