Travel policy update: Countries impacted by Ebola outbreak

For emergency assistance
Contact campus police at 410-617-5911

Loyola health officials are continuing to monitor the Ebola outbreak in parts of West Africa. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not believe Ebola poses a significant risk to the U.S. public at this time, but there are precautions those who have recently traveled in/plan to travel in West Africa can take to further mitigate any risk to the Loyola community.

Students who plan to travel to West African countries designated by the CDC with an Alert (currently Mali) or Warning (currently Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone) for Ebola are required to contact Student Health and Education Services (410-617-5055) prior to travel. Students who have traveled to these areas or who have had a potential exposure to Ebola must also contact Student Health and Education Services prior to returning to campus.

Faculty, staff, administrators, and other members of the Loyola community who plan to travel to West African countries designated by the CDC with an Alert or Warning for Ebola are required to contact Human Resources (410-617-2354) prior to travel. Community members who have traveled to these areas or who have had a potential exposure to Ebola must also contact Human Resources prior to returning to campus.

If you have additional questions about Ebola or any other health concerns, please contact Student Health and Education Services at 410-617-5055.
