Global Studies
Global Studies is an interdisciplinary major based in four disciplines: economics, history, political science and sociology. Global Studies offers excellent preparation for entry-level employment with multinational corporations, government agencies, international governmental organizations, such as the U.N. and the World Trade Organization, and international nongovernmental organizations. It also provides a foundation for graduate study in international and global studies, the social sciences, law, business, journalism, public health, environmental studies, peace studies, and other interdisciplinary fields.

Political Science
Political science is the systematic study of government and politics. It deals with the making and implementing of public policy by means of decisions regarded as authoritative or binding for society. Graduates can pursue careers with Congress, Congressional committees, the White House, lobbying or law firms, interest groups, judges, state legislators or more.

Psychology
Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Students are exposed to many specialty areas of psychology, while obtaining a solid, broad-based appreciation of the discipline as a whole. Graduates may venture into human services, business, law, medicine, or careers in mental health (counseling, social work), which almost always require advanced education and training, at least through the master’s level.

Sociology
Sociology students learn to apply basic sociological research techniques and skills, which graduates have found useful in a variety of career tracks. Many students are drawn to sociology, because they are people-oriented and are considering a career in which they will deal with other people, such as law, business, medicine, teaching, government, non-profit organizations, or social work.

Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences
Coursework addresses the anatomical structures and functions as well as the normal development of speech and hearing. Additionally, the disorders of speech, language, and hearing are addressed for both pediatric and adult populations. Many courses contain experiential components including service-learning, clinical observations, and field experience.

Psychology
The Psychology Department offers two graduate degrees: Masters (M.S.) in Clinical Professional Counseling and a doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology.
Speech-Language Pathology
Loyola's graduate program in speech-language pathology provides education and training to enable students to become skilled and caring speech-language pathologists.
