Biography

Dr. Cheston received her doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Northern Illinois University and has published four books and many journal articles in the areas of counseling, supervision, childhood abuse, and spirituality. Dr. Cheston has served as a professional leader in the American Counseling Association, is a past president of ACA's division ASERVIC (Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling). She served as chair of the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists in Maryland. Dr. Cheston's professional specialties are in working with adults who have been abused as children and in working with other human service providers.
