Socioeconomic barriers and the instructional environment

View the poster >>

Abstract:

Will providing opportunities for participants to engage in culturally responsive reflection of their instructional delivery, encourage instructional practices centered around equity for students?

The way in which I plan to gather data would be centered around the series of professional developments. Each professional development session will have an evaluation component to gage equity practices implemented within their instruction.

I anticipate that the teachers will be more sensitive and aware of student differences, especially as they relate to the students’ social class, such that teachers will instruct in more effective culturally responsive ways.
