Fergie Cantos

  • Class of 2018

  • Degrees M.S. Speech-Language Pathology

Fergie says she first fell in love with Loyola on a high school trip to the Evergreen campus, but at the time wasn’t ready to move away from her home in Queens, N.Y. After completing her undergraduate degree at St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, she felt prepared to make the leap and relocate to Baltimore: “It felt like home, and I knew I wanted to attend. Everyone was welcoming, and the professors were enthusiastic and passionate about teaching,” she says. From the small class sizes to the field experiences, Fergie loved everything about Loyola's program and proclaims that enrolling in the program was the best decision she ever made. After practicing in various settings and currently working as a clinical fellow in a school in the suburbs of Chicago, she has seen a need for bilingual speech therapists and is eager to serve the Spanish-speaking population with her own language skills. She is especially passionate about working with children.
