Moira Lynch, Ph.D.

Moira Lynch, Ph.D., began teaching at Loyola in 2012. She grew up in Milwaukee, Wis., and has also lived in Dublin and Belfast, Ireland; she received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Lynch's scholarship focuses on global justice, human rights, democratic transitions, international law, gender equality, and post-conflict settings; she is the author of Human Rights Prosecutions in Democracies at War. Dr. Lynch likes to talk to her students about their research, professional goals, and prepare them for a wider world. A member of Loyola’s Peace and Justice Studies steering committee, she says she sees the program as a call to action for all students to think critically about social justice issues.
