Students: Loyola’s indoor mask mandate to remain in place for the time being

Dear Students,

Although Baltimore City is lifting its indoor mask mandate tomorrow, March 1, Loyola will maintain the indoor mask mandate on our campuses for the time being. Recognizing that students will be traveling over Spring Break and the importance of a good start to the rest of the semester, we are keeping the mask requirement in place.

Especially considering a slight increase in COVID-19 cases among students over the past week, we feel this is the most prudent approach. We will reassess the indoor mask mandate and communicate any changes to the protocol during the week of March 14.

Spring Break Guidance

If you are traveling over Spring Break, please continue to make safe and healthy decisions. Student Health Services recommends taking a home test before returning and only sharing the results with covidtesting@loyola.edu if the results are positive. The University will conduct increased testing of students during the first week back from the break.

Conclusion

We look forward to amending or lifting the indoor mask mandate on Loyola’s campuses in due time, and we thank you for understanding. We are so grateful to everyone for your compliance with University policies and helping us manage COVID-19 so effectively, and we have been able to remove many of our COVID-19 restrictions. Thank you for continuing to do your part to keep our community healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

The Rapid Response Team
