Scholarships are available on a highly competitive basis. Scholarships are awarded based on merit and not on financial need.
Approximately half of our enrolled Cadets are on scholarship and once you enroll you may be eligible for one. The most important areas of consideration for college applicants are GPA, physical fitness and a strong potential for leadership. If you perform well in class, meet the Army fitness standards and show the determination and motivation to lead you could be our next scholarship winner.
There are also opportunities for current high school students to apply for a scholarship prior to enrolling. The basic eligibility requirements for high school scholarship applicants include the following:
- Between 17 and 26 years of age
- U.S. citizen
- Have a high school GPA of at least 2.5
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have taken the SAT or ACT (no minimum score)
Scholarship applications are available to current high school seniors at http://www.goarmy.com/rotc/college-students/four-year-scholarships.html. Click on scholarships on the left side of the page and follow the links to create an online ID. The window to apply begins in June prior to your senior year. The deadline to begin an application is February 4th and the deadline to complete an application is March 6th. The process is similar to a college application in providing transcripts, board scores, and personal essays; where it differs is you must also complete a fitness test and be interviewed by the Professor of Military Science at an Army ROTC program.
Current college students interested in trying ROTC and/or competing for a scholarship should contact the Mr. Joseph Mucci at 410-617-5179 or jmucci@loyola.edu.
