Position Descriptions
The Student Philanthropy Council Leadership Team plays a significant role in the continued success of the organization. The individuals must display dedication to philanthropy at Loyola in all aspects of their Loyola involvement.
General Expectations
- Develop and grow in your understanding of how philanthropy supports Loyola University Maryland and be an advocate for broad-based support from the Loyola community.
- Donate to Loyola on our annual day of giving, Greyhounds Give.
- Always exemplify a professional and courteous manner as a leader of your peers.
- Attend monthly committee meetings.
- Attend bi-weekly executive committee meetings.
- Develop increased philanthropic engagement within the student body.
- Work towards 10% student giving for freshman, sophomore, and junior classes.
- Collaborate with Senior Class Gift efforts to secure 35% participation from senior class.

Chair
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly meetings with larger SPC members and facilitate discussion to help plan upcoming events to achieve engagement and fundraising goals
- Share meeting agenda with all in attendance to allow for optimum group participation
- Lead conversation on creating and executing upcoming events including but not limited to Throwback Philanthropy Day, “I Love Loyola” Day, #GreyhoundsGive
- Presence at pre-planned SPC events throughout the year
- Presence at 4-6 alumni events hosted by the Office of Alumni Engagement
- Act as advocate of the Student Philanthropy Council and encourage students to join using person to person contact
- Meet once a month with the Chair of Senior Class Gift to discuss opportunities for partnership
Requirements

- Preferably member of the class of 2020 and someone who has been involved in SPC or other philanthropic activities
Vice Chair, Marketing
Responsibilities
- Attend monthly meetings with larger SPC members
- Provide insight on event or council marketing opportunities, discuss potential advertising opportunities
- Provide digital signage for all SPC events and recruitment opportunities, including but not limited to Throwback Philanthropy Day, “I Love Loyola” Day, #GreyhoundsGive
- If necessary, provide staffing support for all events
- Maintain SPC Instagram and Facebook
- Act as advocate of the Student Philanthropy Council and encourage students to join using person to person contact
- Presence at 4-6 pre-planned Alumni Engagement events throughout the year
Requirements
- Experience developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy to drive action

- Experience with videography, multiple social media platforms, graphic design
Vice Chair, Campus Outreach and Events
Responsibilities
- Help drive discussion towards broader campus engagement
- Order tables, reserve event space for 3-4 events per semester including but not limited to Throwback Philanthropy Day, “I Love Loyola” Day, #GreyhoundsGive
- Inform employee advisor of all needed supplies for events
- Identify long term and one-time campus partners by conducting initial meet and greet meetings with other on-campus student leaders
- Work with leadership team to cultivate intercampus partnerships after initial outreach
- Promote partnership with SPC by recognizing philanthropic need in other areas of campus
- Manage relationship with key on-campus offices, including Messina, to ensure relationship is strong and philanthropic materials (modules, etc) are in use
- Oversee recruitment efforts for Greyhounds Give ambassadors
- Organize and coordinate recruitment efforts among class years, utilizing and supporting the Class Officers
- Presence at 4-6 pre-planned Alumni Engagement events throughout the year

Class Officer (2023, 2022, and 2021)
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Vice Chair of Campus Outreach and other Class Officers, foster and maintain partnerships with clubs, departments, or experiences directly pertaining to your class year.
- Determine opportunities for partnership with SPC to promote philanthropy and SPC’s mission
- Promote SPC within your own social and academic circles
- Presence at 4-6 pre-planned Alumni Engagement events throughout the year
Greyhounds Give
- Identify and recruit Greyhounds Give ambassadors within the class year
- Mobilize confirmed ambassadors to attend volunteer training and ensure they fulfill obligations on Greyhounds Give
Member Recruitment
- Act as advocate of the club and encourage interested students to join
Events
- In collaboration with the rest of the campus outreach team, plan and host events with interested partners
