Zoom Meeting
This workshop will focus on helping writing specialists navigate culturally resonant pieces of work (e.g., narratives that delve into cultural history or powerful identity-based stories) in a sensitive and appropriate way. It will explore strategies for moving beyond a standard grammatical critique to engage with the content respectfully, focusing on how to help the student strengthen their intended message without appropriating or sanitizing their voice. The goal of this workshop is to help tutors understand creating a supportive space where students feel their stories are heard and valued, not just revised for grammer.
