Loyola has contracted with Dr. Susan Rankin & Associates to conduct a campus climate assessment that will inform the University's actions for the future. The President’s Council on Equity and Inclusion will provide overall direction and guidance.
As part of this work, Rankin & Associates will be conducting focus groups later this fall, and each member of the Loyola community will be encouraged to participate in an online survey during the spring semester.
The survey is now live!
Participate in Online Climate Survey
Letter from the President
Dear Members of the Loyola Community,
At Loyola University Maryland, we are seeking to create an environment that ensures openness, fairness, and equal access for all students, faculty, staff, and administrators. As we look for opportunities to enact meaningful and lasting change, we are moving forward in our process to assess how all members of our community are experiencing the current campus climate. Through this climate survey, which begins today and runs through April 12, we hope to identify appropriate steps that will help us broaden our scope around diversity and inclusion and inform actions for the future.
Your voice and your perspective are critical to this process. The survey, which is designed to provide information about both positive and challenging aspects of our climate, offers you an opportunity to describe your personal experiences and your observations. You will also be able to offer suggestions for change that might enhance the campus climate at Loyola.
Your participation in this project is voluntary. I want to assure you that all of your answers will remain confidential and the results will be reported in group form only. You will not be identifiable as an individual. This research has been reviewed and approved by the Loyola University Maryland Institutional Review Board.
Please take 20-30 minutes out of your day to answer the questions. Every student who completes the survey will receive a limited-edition Loyola T-shirt and be entered into a raffle for free parking. Faculty, administrators, and staff who complete the survey will have the opportunity to win free parking in the Jenkins lot, an Apple iPad, or a Visa gift card. The drawing for the Jenkins parking will be held on March 19.
Thank you in advance for taking time to participate in this worthwhile process. By lending your voice to this process, you can help us move closer to our aspiration of building a more equitable and inclusive community.
Rev. Brian F. Linnane, S.J.
