Eligibility Requirements
LoyolaVITA provides no-cost tax assistance for those in the Baltimore community! Due to the nature of this free service, eligibility requirements must be met.
What to Expect at your Appointment
During your appointment you will meet with an IRS-certified volunteer who will assist you with filing your tax return. They will review your documents, ask questions to confirm details, and guide you through each step of the process. Appointment times vary depending on the client’s needs, but most take approximately 30 minutes.
- Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure everything is ready for your appointment.

Our IRS-certified volunteers are here to provide free, reliable tax preparation services tailored to your needs. Our appointments are scheduled through the CASH Campaign of Maryland. Be sure to schedule your appointments in advance to reserve your time:

What to Bring
Photo Identification
For you and your spouse (if married filling jointly)
- U.S. driver's license
- Employer ID
- School ID
- State ID (U.S.)
- Military ID
- National ID
- Visa
- Passport
Social Security Card
For yourself, your spouse, AND your dependents if applicable
- If you, your spouse, or your dependents do not have a SSN, please bring an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) notice
- If you have been assigned an Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (ID PIN), please bring the current year notice
Wage and Earning Statements
Such as a W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-MISC
Bank Account Number & Routing Number
This information will be used for direct deposit (e.g. a blank check or online banking app that provides the information)
If Applicable
- Social Security Benefits Statement (SSA-1099)
- Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)
- Form 1099G if unemployed benefits were recieved during the year
- Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider's tax identifying number, such as their SSN or business EIN
- Form 1095-A, if enrolled in a qualified health plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace
- A copy of your federal and state tax return from the previous year, if available
- Form 1098-T if you, a spouse, or a dependent are currently paying for college tuition
- If filing jointly, both spouses need to sign your tax returns
- Any other documents you feel might be required

The Loyola VITA program is excited to offer FREE tax preparation for employees and students on campus with household incomes under $69,000- per IRS rules!
Dates: Monday, February 16th & Friday, March 13th
