Zippia names Loyola “Best College for Getting a Job” in Maryland
Loyola University Maryland was named the “Best College for Getting a Job” in Maryland by Zippia—an online career search engine.
According to the ranking by Zippia, the University has a 94% placement rate among recent graduates.
“The true measure of a modern university’s success is the way it shapes both a student’s holistic personal development and professional readiness. Loyola’s dedication to a Jesuit, liberal education with guidance on defining professional depth for all of our students—likely contributed to this ranking,” said Jim Dickinson, Ph.D., assistant vice president for career services. “What inspires me most about this work is how our entire Loyola community—faculty, administrators, alumni, and other partners—has deepened its commitment to these interrelated goals. The dedication and resources provided by each department including career services prepares our graduates to make their mark on the world with both compassion and competence. This is ‘Loyola Ready’ in action.”
Zippia creates the ranking by using the Department of Education College Scorecard data to search for the college in each state with the highest listed job placement numbers 10 years after graduation. Then every college in the country is ranked from the highest employment levels to the lowest. Any college that did not have this data or suppressed it was excluded from the running. The ranking focused on the best colleges to graduate with your bachelor’s degree. To do this, Zippia looked at colleges that predominantly offer four-year degrees, excluding some two-year colleges. Then they selected the college with the highest rate of employment in each state, rounding to the second decimal point for readability.
