Teresa Beilstein, ’07, to speak on experiences as Maryland’s Teacher of the Year at Green & Grey Speaker Series

Loyola graduate Teresa Beilstein, ’07, will discuss her experiences as Maryland’s Teacher of the Year as part of Loyola University Maryland’s Green & Grey Alumni Speaker Series on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m., via Livestream.

Beilstein was named the 2019-2020 Maryland Teacher of the Year by the Maryland State Department of Education. She currently teaches third grade at South Shore Elementary School for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. 

As an undergraduate student at Loyola, Beilstein was a member of the Green & Grey Society, the Student Leadership Corps, the Evergreens, Student Ambassadors, and the Senior Class Gift Committee. Beilstein was involved with Campus Ministry, the Community Service Council, serving at Beans & Bread and the House of Mercy. She was also a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, Omicron Delta Epsilon (the international economics honor society), and Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She graduated from Loyola with her bachelor’s in economics. 

Beilstein earned her Master of Arts in Teaching and a Master of Science in Organizational Psychology from Walden University.

The Green & Grey Alumni Speakers Series invites alumni who were members of Loyola’s Green & Grey Society to speak on the Evergreen campus. Since 1989, Loyola University Maryland has selected a small number of members from the senior class who demonstrated excellence in academic, personal, and spiritual integration and committed service to Loyola. In the spirit of Jesuit ideals, the Society has served as advisors to the University leaders by identifying and communicating issues of significance present in the lives of community members.
