Loyola University Maryland listed among Money's Best Colleges in America

Loyola University Maryland earned 4.5 out of 5 stars on Money’s list of the 2025 Best Colleges in America. The ratings were compiled by analyzing quality of education, affordability, and outcomes, using metrics like graduation rates, student-faculty ratio, cost of attendance, financial aid, and alumni salaries.
“Loyola shines in several measures of student outcomes,” Money reported, adding that recent graduates post median earnings of more than $83,000. “Even alumni that don’t go into high-paying fields fare well financially.”
“We are proud to see Loyola consistently recognized among the best universities in America,” said Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D., president of Loyola. “As we continue to elevate Loyola as a preeminent university for student success, external recognition like this affirms the efforts of our talented faculty, staff, and administrators, who live their commitment to their students each day.”
Only 732 out of more than 2,400 schools across the U.S. qualified for Money’s list of America’s Best Colleges in 2025, and only about 10% of those schools received a rating of 4.5 stars or higher. The online magazine uses a five-star rating system which “more accurately represents the variation in colleges’ performance.” Loyola is consistently included on the list.
“Our continued high 4.5-star rating affirms the enduring value of a Loyola education,” said Eric Nichols, vice president for enrollment management. “I appreciate Money’s shift from traditional rankings—which can rely on subjective peer surveys —to a more transparent rating system focused on meaningful outcomes. It offers families a clearer, more practical way to compare institutions on what truly matters.”
