Loyola University Maryland was recognized both nationally and regionally among Washington Monthly’s 2026 Best Colleges for Your Tuition (and Tax) Dollars. Loyola made the list of the top 400 schools nationally, ranking at No. 387 out of a total of 1,504 universities and colleges. In the Northeast region, Loyola was listed among the top 120 schools, ranking at No. 103 out of a total of 393 schools.

“This recognition from Washington Monthly reflects Loyola’s unwavering commitment to providing an outstanding education that is both accessible and transformative,” said Eric Nichols, vice president for enrollment management. “We are proud to be recognized for creating opportunities for students from all backgrounds, supporting their success during and after college, and preparing graduates to serve and lead in their communities. These rankings affirm the value of a Loyola education and the impact our students, faculty, staff, and alumni make every day.”

Washington Monthly, an independent, nonprofit magazine covering U.S. politics and government, equally weighed access for students who are not wealthy, affordability and student loan debt, academic and financial outcomes, and public service. The magazine accounted for graduation rates, student diversity, Pell Grant awards, cost to attend, income after graduation, AmeriCorps and Peace Corps data, and spending on research and community service, among other measures.
