Daily Visits

We offer daily visits on most weekdays, Monday through Friday. Reservations are required. The visit lasts approximately 2.5 to 3 hours and includes a group information session, a campus tour, and an interview (optional). If senior and transfer students have scheduled interviews, they should arrive at 9:15 a.m. for the morning visit or 1:15 p.m. for the afternoon visit. Please see the calendar below for visit options, as all visit types are not available every day.

*NOTE: Interviews are for high school seniors and transfer students.

Group Information Session

This session lasts approximately 50 minutes. A presentation by an admission counselor for you and your family will include:

  • a short introductory video
  • general information on Loyola
  • the Jesuit educational approach
  • the liberal arts core curriculum
  • academic and social activities
  • choosing a major and the academic advising system
  • admission guidelines and procedures
  • costs, scholarships, need-based financial aid
  • on-campus housing and facility overview

Campus Tour

You and your family may take a guided campus tour, conducted by a Loyola student, or you may feel free to look around on your own, using a campus map and a walking tour guide that you may print or obtain from admission. The guided tour takes around an hour and will follow the group information session and the interview.

Interview

Usually, the interview for senior and transfer students lasts about 10 or 20 minutes. We regard the interview, which is not a required part of the application process, as an exchange of information. We do not evaluate a student's "performance" in an interview…so relax! You will be given the opportunity to ask your questions in a one-on-one setting with an admission counselor, and the counselor will ask you about your academic background and your educational plans. The counselor will explain Loyola's guidelines and, if you have applied, offer advice about how to strengthen your application before it goes to final review. If you have not applied, you may bring an unofficial copy of your transcript for discussion in the interview.

Interview Scheduling

Reservations are required and may be made when signing up for one of our general information programs. We take reservations on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you would like to schedule an interview and all appointments on the date that you select have been filled, you may still visit Loyola on that date by reserving a place for the general information program and/or campus tour. Alternatively, you may choose another date which has interview openings.

Note: We also offer many open house visit opportunities on Saturdays. Since interviews are not available as part of the open houses, you should schedule a weekday visit if you wish to schedule an interview.

Class Visits

Sitting in on a class will give you a firsthand look at the academic life on campus and let you see what it is really like to be a Loyola student. We encourage you to sit in on a class that interests you. You may wish to attend a class in your intended major, or perhaps see what one of the core courses entails. Our admission office will coordinate with faculty members to arrange a convenient time for you to join and observe a class that fits your interests.

Class visits are reserved for high school seniors only. If you are interested in scheduling a class visit, please contact the Undergraduate Admission Office by email at admission@loyola.edu or by phone at 410-617-5012.
