Environmental Science Major

The Environmental Science program is an interdisciplinary science major, designed for students interested in the scientific study of the interactions of human and natural systems. After completion of the environmental science program, students have the necessary skills and knowledge for introductory employment and graduate continuing education in environmental science and related fields. 

Course Requirements

Course Sequences

Students must complete two of the following course sequences: 

  • Biology: BL 150 & BL 151, BL 152 & BL153, and BL 154 & BL 155
  • Calculus: MA 152 and MA 252
  • Chemistry: CH 101 & CH 105 and CH 102 & CH 106
  • Physics: PH 201 & PH 291 and PH 202 & PH 292

Electives

  • 3 Environmental Science electives
  • 1 Environment, Society, and Policy elective
  • 1 Environmental Humanities elective

Note: 4/5 electives must be at the 300 or 400 level. BL 154 may count as one of the environmental science electives. See the catalogue for a complete list of elective courses and all restrictions.
