Environmental Science Major

The Environmental Science program is an interdisciplinary science major, designed for students interested in the scientific study of the interactions of human and natural systems. After completion of the environmental science program, students have the necessary skills and knowledge for introductory employment and graduate continuing education in environmental science and related fields.

• ENV 450  -  Integral Ecology Capstone
• ENV 491  -  Environmental Science Research or ENV 492  -  Environmental Science Internship
• CM 313  -  Communication for Environmental and Social Justice or WR 301  -  Writing about Science or WR 354  -  Writing about the Environment
• PL 314  -  Environmental Ethics or TH 312  -  Christian Environmental Ethics
• ST 210  -  Introduction to Statistics

Course Sequences

Students must complete two of the following course sequences: 

• Biology: BL 150 & BL 151, BL 152 & BL153, and BL 154 & BL 155
• Calculus: MA 152 and MA 252
• Chemistry: CH 101 & CH 105 and CH 102 & CH 106
• Physics: PH 201 & PH 291 and PH 202 & PH 292

Electives

• 3 Environmental Science electives
• 1 Environment, Society, and Policy elective
• 1 Environmental Humanities elective
