International First-Year Deadlines & Requirements
Any student who will need a visa to study in the United States, or who already holds a valid U.S. visa, will be considered as an international student.
A first-year student is defined as any student who is currently enrolled in secondary school, or who has graduated secondary school but has never enrolled in post-secondary courses at a college or university.
A transfer student is defined as any applicant who has enrolled in courses at college or university after the completion of secondary school. Go to International Transfer Admission Deadlines & Requirements.

Early Decision I
Early Decision I is the ideal option for academically strong students who view Loyola as their top college choice. Applying Early Decision enables students to learn of their admission status months before other applicants. Early Decision is binding, meaning that students who apply and are admitted to Loyola are expected to enroll. Students admitted via Early Decision I must withdraw all other applications and submit their enrollment deposit to Loyola by January 15.

Early Action
Early Action is non-binding at Loyola and enables students with strong interest in attending to learn of their admission status months before the Regular Decision round. Students admitted through Early Action have until May 1, the National Candidates’ Reply Date, to make their enrollment decision.

Early Decision II

Regular Decision
The Regular Decision deadline is January 15. Students will be notified of their admission decision in writing no later than Mid-March. Students admitted through Regular Decision have until May 1, the National Candidates' Reply Date, to make their enrollment decision.

Spring Admission
Loyola offers a spring semester entry term for first-year students who have not completed any college coursework after high school graduation. Students who apply for spring admission will be notified of their admission on a rolling basis.

International Student Application Requirements

Two letters of recommendation
- High school teacher recommendation
- High school counselor recommendation (if your high school does not have a school counselor, you may submit a second letter of recommendation from a teacher)

SAT/ACT (optional)
- Submission of SAT and/or ACT scores are not required for admission or scholarship consideration.
- Official test of English score report
Loyola accepts the following test of English scores:
Applicants must achieve a score at or above the minimums listed here in order to be considered for admission
- Official high school/secondary school transcript
Transcripts not issued in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation. If the educational system is exam-based, then Official International Examination Results issued by the examination board are also required (e.g. WAEC WASSCE, CSEC & CAPES, GCSE/A-Levels).
- International Student Certification of Finances
Applicants are required to submit the International Student Certificate of Finances at the time of application.

Bank Letter or Statement
Provide a current bank letter or bank statement, in English, dated within the last three months. The letter or statement should indicate a current balance. This document will be used in conjunction with the International Student Certification of Finances form in our need-aware review process, which allows us to consider international applicants for need-based financial aid. If you submit a bank letter, the document must be on bank stationary, translated in English, and signed by a bank official.
- CSS Profile
Applicants who wish to be considered for need-based aid must also submit the CSS Profile at the time they apply for admission. When completing the CSS Profile, Loyola University Maryland's CSS School Code Number is 5370.
Submitting Academic Records and Test Scores
Academic records and test scores will only be considered official if they are received directly from the school or testing agency. An appropriate school official may submit these materials through the Common Application or by email to intladmission@loyola.edu as long as the official is using a school email address. Student-supplied copies of original IELTS Test Report Forms can be verified by the university online, and considered official.
