The Loyola University Maryland Department of Public Safety is comprised of more than 40 sworn officers who have full police powers authorized by the Governor of the State of Maryland, under the Maryland Code Public Safety Title 3; Subtitle 3; Section 3-301. The department maintains a close working relationship with the Baltimore City police department and officers provide routine patrol 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The support operation division consists of a 24 hours a day, seven days a week state-of-the-art dispatch center for all emergency and non-emergency calls, campus alarm systems, card key access control, video surveillance, and fire alarm.
