Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

On November 8, 1990, the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 [Title II of Public Law 101-542] was signed into law by President George H. W. Bush. The Act is known as the Clery Act in memory of Jeanne Clery, who was assaulted and murdered in 1986 in her residence hall while a student at Lehigh University. The Clery Act amended Section 485 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, adding campus security and crime statistics reporting for postsecondary institutions that participate in Title IV student aid programs.

Loyola’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes campus security and crime statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes on campus, in off-campus buildings, or properties owned or controlled by Loyola University Maryland, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as sexual assault and fire safety policies.
