OUTList: Loyola’s LGBTQ+ Employees

I am a queer, white, disabled, nonbinary person, as well as a Loyola University Maryland alum. I got my BA in English and Spanish from Loyola and my MA in Humanities with a certificate in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Chicago. I love creating and consuming all forms of art, including dance, painting, drawing, and performance art. I live in Baltimore with my partner and our cat. I identify as a bisexual, white, cisgender woman. I teach courses in the theatre program, including Queer Theatre and Film, Loyola’s first course to focus exclusively on LGBTQ+ issues. I also direct productions both on and off campus and am the Managing Director of Iron Crow Theatre, Baltimore’s award-winning and critically acclaimed queer theatre. I live in Lutherville with my wife, Janna, and our twin boys.

I am a Black, gay, Christian, cisgender man. My areas of research include rhetorical theory, textual interpretation, and religious discourse. I teach writing, rhetoric, style, and argument courses in the Writing Department and Honors Program. I am the director of the Center for the Humanities, have been the advisor for the rhetoric club, and am an ordained elder at a local Baltimore Presbyterian (USA) church. I live with my dog, Photo.

A little about me: I am a lesbian from Cumana, a beautiful coastal city in Venezuela. My family and I moved to the United States when I was around six years old and I lived in Miami, Florida until I came and fell in love with Loyola. I am a faculty member in the Psychology Department, where I feel incredibly loved and supported. I love to read (and am always looking for recs, so send me some), do yoga, take walks, watch and play tennis (I know!), travel, watch movies, and challenge myself to pick up new hobbies and activities. Hello, hello! I serve as the Director of LGBTQ+ Student Services in the Thrive Center for Student Success where I devote the majority of my time and work supporting queer students in their college experience. I am also the moderator of Loyola's LGBTQ+ student organization, The Spectrum Experience, and identify as a gay/queer white cisgender man. I live in Baltimore with my husband (also a Loyola employee!), and I am passionate about the intersections of sexuality, spirituality, and activism. Hi there! I identify as a bisexual/queer, white, cisgender woman. Additionally, I identify as a person with disabilities, including Narcolepsy.  As a professional staff member in Residence Life and Housing, I live on campus with my dog, Mattox. When I’m not working, I spend a lot of time participating in competitive axe throwing leagues or reading cheesy romance novels.

Hello! I am an affiliate professor in the psychology department, and I am also queer! I graduated from Loyola twice, once with my BA in Psychology in 2022 and again with my MS in Clinical Professional Counseling in 2025. While a student, I helped found the LGBTQ+ Experience club (now The Spectrum Experience), which focused on queer/trans activism on Loyola’s campus. I am a licensed psychotherapist, and I love talking about all things counseling- and teaching-related. Aside from my professional life, I enjoy video games, working on my car (and breaking it, probably), woodworking and restoration, photography, and good coffee.

Hello! I’m a gay, able-bodied cisgender man from rural Minnesota who moved to Baltimore in 2013 for grad school in Speech-Language Pathology—and never left! I met and married my husband here, and we’re raising our cute goldendoodle, Chula. I teach in the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences Department, working with both undergrad and grad students. My passion is gender-affirming voice and communication care for trans and gender diverse individuals in the Loyola and Baltimore communities. Knowing how deeply voice is tied to identity, I strive to create affirming spaces where clients feel seen, celebrated, and empowered to express themselves authentically.

I am a queer, white, cis, lesbian who teaches courses at Loyola in global studies and political science. I integrate issues central to gay and trans life in my teaching and writing, and I am developing a new course on the experiences of gay, lesbian, and gender-variant people in the Holocaust.

Hello! I am a bisexual, white, cisgender woman who is in a straight passing marriage. I work as the Office Manager for Academic Affairs. I hope to foster a safe, encouraging, inclusive, and welcoming environment through my role for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors alike. Some fun facts about me are that I studied Mandarin Chinese in college and lived in China in 2014, I love to embroider and cross-stitch, I enjoy flow arts (hula hooping and poi), seeing live music is my happy place, and I try to go on hikes as often as possible. I will always make myself available if you need someone to talk to.

I am a gay, white, Catholic, cisgender man who grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and has called Baltimore home for almost 20 years. I currently serve as the coordinator of OUTLoyola, Loyola’s LGBTQ+ group for faculty, staff, and administrators. When not at work, I enjoy cooking, tennis, attending live theater, and spending time with my fiancé, Joey.

As someone who first started questioning their sexuality at the age of 36, I am proof that it’s never too late to embrace your authentic self and choose to live a truer and more beautiful life! I am a divorced, white, atheist, cisgender, pansexual/queer woman from Chicago, a clinical psychologist, and an eternal optimist who spends the majority of my free time following Phish. I am the current OUTLoyola representative to the President’s Council on Equity and Inclusion. Let’s be friends!

Hi everyone, I am Jainaya (she/her) and I identify as a black queer/bisexual cisgender woman. I serve as one of the Assistant Director/Success Coaches on campus within the Thrive Center for Student Success. As your success coach, I can help you navigate all things related to your college life throughout your journey here at Loyola. I love all things related to theatre, Beyoncé, and I'm a big foodie born and raised right here in Baltimore. I really enjoy chatting with students, so if you ever find yourself on the 3rd floor of the student center, feel free to stop by the office with the giant Wicked poster in front of it (you can't miss it!). I am a gay, white, Jewish, cisgender man. I specialize in the history of sexuality and recently published a history of prostitution and homosexuality in nineteenth-century Paris. I regularly teach courses within gender history and the history of sexuality, including LGBTQ+ history. I am currently the interim director of the Gender and Sexuality Studies minor and serve as the moderator for Spectrum and the Gender and Sexuality Studies Club.

I'm a gay, cis, white woman working in the Office of the Registrar. When I'm not processing transfer credits, I spend my time gaming, writing, and watching far too much trashy television. I attended Notre Dame of Maryland University, where I studied philosophy and got involved with Spectrum, as well as other clubs committed to inclusivity and diversity. Hi. I am a cisgender gay man from Illinois. I moved to Baltimore City just over two years ago. I usually teach courses focused on health and medicine and inequality, but my interests also extend to mental health and social psychology. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, listening to music, and video chatting with my family in Illinois.

I am a proud Puerto Rican gay man. I am currently serving as the Director of Student Success Coaching in the Thrive Center for Student Success. I am passionate about supporting underrepresented students—not just ALANA students, but also students that identify as first generation and come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. I am passionate about meeting students where they are, and I approach my work through an intersectional framework. I currently reside in Baltimore.

Hello! I am a queer Black cisgendered woman librarian working at LNDL. I'm passionate about accessibility, equity, and representation within the library field. I also lead zine workshops for LNDL and specific courses. I am originally from Howard County, MD but have lived in Richmond, VA and Boston, MA throughout my adult life.
