Ongoing Programs

Ambassador Position

The McAuley Women’s Center launched its Ambassador Program in Fall 2023 in response to student feedback expressing a desire for deeper engagement with the Center. Since its inception, the program has grown significantly, doubling in size over the past two years and now comprising 19 student ambassadors. Ambassadors play an active role in planning and executing programs both on and off campus while representing the McAuley Women’s Center across a variety of campus spaces.

The Ambassador position requires students to assist with three programs each semester, attend monthly meetings, and serve as visible representatives of the Center’s mission and values. Through this experience, students develop both professionally and personally. Benefits of participation include leadership development, professional skill-building, mentorship and connection, meaningful service, and a strong sense of community and belonging.

Hiring for the Ambassador position occurs each Fall semester. During the hiring period, applications are available on The Bridge.

McAuley Connects

Social wellness plays a crucial role in students’ overall wellbeing, especially during their college years. Building meaningful relationships, developing a sense of belonging, and finding supportive communities can positively impact academic success, mental health, and personal growth.

The McAuley Women’s Center hopes to support this social wellness by launching McAuley Connects, a new initiative designed to help students strengthen their social wellness through intentional, low-pressure opportunities for connection. Beginning in January 2026, students will be matched with a Peer Connector and meet once a month for simple, meaningful activities—such as grabbing coffee at the Green & Grey Café, sharing dinner in Boulder, attending a campus performance or lecture, or exploring other events happening around Loyola.

Students of all class years are welcome to join. McAuley Connects emphasizes that friendships in college are not about quantity, but quality. Even one or two supportive relationships can make a meaningful difference in a student’s sense of belonging. The program also encourages students to explore their own self-care practices, recognizing that social wellness includes both connection with others and time spent reconnecting with oneself.
