The Ignatius Scholars Program shaped me and my confidence during my time at Loyola. I felt ready the first week of classes and even more confident in my abilities to ask for help when I needed it. The program surrounds students with a strong and intentional network that helps us thrive not only academically but also personally and socially. We are provided a built-in community right from the start, as well as priority access to resources and workshops to help the transition to college.
My experience as an Ignatius Scholar helped me grow into a leader. It taught me to arrive on time for everything and to come prepared and ready for each day, because it would prove to be different than the last. It taught me the importance of helping out the greater community of Baltimore and the ways of helping through serving others. I have also learned how to serve as a leader through my academic experience. If you're considering applying to the Ignatius Scholars Program even for just a second, I highly recommend that you do. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and it will stick with you throughout your time at Loyola.
