Bobby Waldrup, Ph.D., will serve as the interim dean of the Sellinger School of Business Management from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022.

A professor of accounting and former department chair, Waldrup has served as associate dean of the Sellinger School since 2017, leading in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and research. Prior to joining the Sellinger School in 2013, he was a professor and associate provost at University of North Florida where he oversaw the academic affairs budgets and strategic planning process.

“The Sellinger School—and Loyola—will certainly benefit from Dr. Waldrup’s leadership and expertise over the course of the next academic year,” said Amanda M. Thomas, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Waldrup holds a doctorate in accountancy from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Public Administration in Professional Accountancy from Mississippi State University.

A respected forensic and fraud expert in the federal court systems of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., Waldrup has more than 25 years of experience in higher education and expertise in forensic accounting and financial fraud. He recently helped lead a philanthropic campaign that will culminate in the construction and opening of Sellinger’s new data visualization laboratory this fall.

Serving in the associate dean role for the Sellinger School will be Hung-bin Ding, Ph.D., associate professor of management and international business and department chair. Ding, who joined the Sellinger School as an assistant professor in 2002, was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2009. He was the academic director of ELMBA in 2013 and served as the Sellinger director of international partnerships from 2014 to 2016. Ding holds a Ph.D. in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an M.A. in International Science, Technology, and Public Policy from the George Washington University, and a B.A. in Political Science from Soochow University.

Kathleen A. Getz, Ph.D., current dean of the Sellinger School, is leaving Loyola to become president of Mercyhurst University. Loyola will conduct a national search for the next dean of the Sellinger School.
