Tim Teeling

  • Class Year 2011

  • Degree B.A Communication

Tim applies his Loyola degree in communication, with a specialization in digital media and a minor in business, to his role as a web designer at cybersecurity firm Tenable, where he develops software, produces marketing materials, and serves as a mentor for his team. Tim, who also holds a Master of Publication Communication from Fordham University, says his extra-curricular involvement at Loyola helped provide the skills and valuable experience that prepared him for his graduate program and his career. He worked in production and as a general manager for the student radio station, for which he also hosted his own program: “I was able to come out of four years working at WLOY with what I consider four years of actual work experience.” Eager to share his knowledge and his passion for web design, Tim returned to the classroom, serving as an adjunct professor in Loyola’s communication department from 2013-2015, where he focused on helping students develop and build their own web portfolios. The Bridgewater, N.J., native who today lives in Odenton, Md., enjoys engaging with and giving back to his community by volunteering at a local middle school, where he teaches students the basics of coding.

Loyola taught me to love learning itself and to strive to do more for others. I have a lifelong desire to continue to learn and self-improve, and that has also helped me further my career.
