Biography
Aaron Palmore received his B.A. in Classics and Medieval Studies from Ohio Wesleyan
University and his Ph.D. in Classics from The Ohio State University. In between these
two degrees, he taught high school Latin, worked in non-profit development and advocacy,
and completed the Classics post-baccalaureate program at Georgetown University.
Dr. Palmore's research interests are in Latin literature and language, with a special
focus on lyric and elegiac poetry. His primary focus is on the interaction between
form and meaning in Horace's final lyric collection, Odes 4. Other projects focus
on Hellenistic Greek poetry and its reception in Rome, Geoffrey of Monmouth's Vita
Merlini, and the 18th-century Latin poet Christian Wedsted.
At Loyola, Dr. Palmore's primary teaching responsibilities are in Latin, Greek, and
mythology.
