Master of Science Data Science Accelerated Program

The accelerated Master of Science in Data Science program is an opportunity for Loyola undergraduates to complete both an undergraduate and master’s degree in a reduced timeframe and lower total tuition costs.

Loyola undergraduate students accepted into the program may take a maximum of three graduate-level classes during their senior year as a Loyola undergraduate. Below are the recommended three courses that may be applied to both the undergraduate and graduate degree program.

  • CS703 Programming for Data Science
  • ST710 Linear Statistical Models
  • DS851 Business Intelligence and Data Mining

To be able to complete the master’s degree in an additional year, two of the three courses taken as an undergraduate must be CS703 and ST710. It is recommended that students also take DS851 as an undergraduate. If a student has previously taken an equivalent undergraduate version of one or more of these courses, the graduate-level course may be waived as a requirement but must be replaced with an additional graduate elective.

All cross-applied courses taken as an undergraduate are billed at the standard undergraduate tuition rate effectively reducing the total cost of completing the undergraduate degree and Master’s in Data Science degree at Loyola University Maryland. The remaining graduate-level courses in the program may be taken following the successful completion of a student’s undergraduate senior year at the current Master of Science in Data Science tuition rate.
