Pre-Law Society

Pre-Law Trip 11-3-22 - Cropped

The Pre-Law Society is composed of individuals who share a common interest in the field of law. The Pre-Law Society is open to all students interested in the study of law, even if they are not "pre-law" and do not plan on going to law school. The organization meets several times a semester and in the past has had speakers (lawyers, judges, law students, Loyola alums, etc.), field trips (local courts, D.C.), movie nights, and workshops (LSAT Preparation, Personal Statement, Applying to Law School, etc.).

Mission Statement

The Pre-Law Society of Loyola University Maryland serves as a supportive environment for driven individuals interested in pursuing a career in law. We are dedicated to introducing our members to events and opportunities, aiding them on their law school journey.

Loyola’s emphasis on public service and vocational callings has solidified my decision to practice law. I plan to pursue a career in the government sector and actively contribute to legislative reform. As President, I am beyond excited to grow the Pre-Law Society’s involvement on campus, work with like-minded and passionate individuals, and focus on community service in the Baltimore area.

My name is Brianna Silva and I am a part of the class of 2025. I am a Junior Political Science and Psychology student here at Loyola; and am on the Pre-Law Track. My campus involvement consists of being a Greyhound Ambassador and Vice President of Pre-Law Society. I am passionate about law, politics, cura personalis (care for the whole mind, body, and spirit), and how it involves itself in our everyday lives.

Treasurer - Grace Dwan

Headshot of Grace DwanI have always been interested in pursuing a career in law as it would provide the opportunity to serve the community, help others, and make a difference. As a member of the Pre-Law Society, I have loved the opportunities and experiences it has provided such as networking events and law school prep. This year I hope to continue to provide events that prepare those for future legal careers and connect past and present members of the Pre-Law Society. History major.

From a very early age I’ve only ever wanted to help people and I feel as though understanding psychology and law gives me the opportunity to do that. With that being said, I'm more than beyond interested in shedding light to diversity and inclusion in the Criminal Justice system, recognizing those who are often neglected and granting them the opportunity to acknowledge and reclaim their voice as it’s meant to be heard. Psychology major with a double minor in Sociology and Peace & Justice Studies.
